A Shrouded Apparition

The Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana is known as one of America’s most haunted houses. It was built in 1796. There were several deaths due to disease and one confirmed murder on the property but there are also numerous stories of deaths and murders that never actually happened. Although many of the more popular tragic stories have no historical basis, it is undeniable that something haunts the Myrtles. There are numerous sightings and personal accounts as well as photos of apparitions. No one is sure who haunts the old Plantation home, but speculation ranges from children who died from yellow fever, to slaves, to a former owner.
Here I present my own photo, accidentally taken when I dropped my digital camera. The building in the photo is no longer there. It was torn down and a restaurant now occupies the space. It was taken around 9:30pm and there was no one else present. There was no precipitation, or fog and I was not smoking. I was standing in a parking lot with no trees nearby.
